INTRODUCTION — WELCOME AS AN AMBASSADOR
The Club Roulez Électrique Ambassador support program is based on a simple principle: enabling members who are familiar with the Program and home EV charging to share their experience and help other members navigate the various stages of participation more easily.
Being an Ambassador therefore means more than simply sharing a Referral Link. It means agreeing to support the people who join through that link, from their first steps through the connection of their charging station and, when necessary, beyond.
This Guide is designed to make your role easier. It covers the main steps involved in supporting members, the procedures to follow, useful checks, practical advice, and the resources available when you need help.
The Guide supplements the Ambassador Support Policy. Some of its provisions are rules, procedures, or instructions that Ambassadors must follow; others are simply suggestions, tips, or best practices intended to make their role easier.
1. YOUR ROLE AS AN AMBASSADOR
Your primary role is to provide support.
Depending on the person's needs, this support may include:
- explaining how the Program works in general and helping the person register;
- helping determine whether their charging station is eligible and, if necessary, helping them choose one;
- assisting with the purchase, installation, and connection of their charging station to the Program;
- checking with them that their first eligible charging sessions are properly recorded;
- helping them if an issue arises later;
- directing them to the FAQ, another Ambassador, or Roulez Électrique support when an issue is beyond your expertise.
Support should be adapted to each person. A task that seems very simple to you may be much less obvious to someone with limited knowledge of apps, Wi-Fi networks, or charging station configuration. Patience, resourcefulness, and the ability to adapt your explanations are therefore essential.
However, you are not expected to be available at all times or to become a technical expert. The goal is to take reasonable steps within your area of experience and ask for help when you reach the limits of your knowledge.
Good practice
Before inviting new people, consider whether you have the time and knowledge needed to support them properly. It is better to limit the number of people you support based on your availability than to leave several invitees without follow-up.
2. UNDERSTANDING AMBASSADOR STATUSES AND THEIR BENEFITS
2.1 Ambassador
If your charging station was not purchased from Roulez Électrique, you must, among other requirements, have generated at least 2,500 kWh of eligible charging before you can obtain Ambassador status.
An Ambassador may use their Referral Link and currently earns 1 Point for each kWh of eligible charging generated by their invitees.
2.2 Gold Ambassador
There are currently two ways to qualify for Gold Ambassador status:
- Charging station purchased from Roulez Électrique. Add an eligible charging station purchased from Roulez Électrique to your account and meet the other applicable requirements.
- $250 option. Meet the applicable requirements and pay the $250 fee established for this purpose.
A Gold Ambassador currently earns 2 Points for each kWh of eligible charging generated by their invitees and may become a Recommended Ambassador upon meeting the applicable criteria.
2.3 Maintaining your status
To maintain your status, you must, among other requirements, remain a member of the Program, keep at least one eligible, functional charging station connected to the Program, and meet the annual requirements set out in the Policy.
Accordingly, during each full calendar year following the year in which you obtain your status, you must complete at least 10 eligible charging sessions and record at least 250 kWh of eligible charging. An Ambassador whose charging station was not purchased from Roulez Électrique must also reach 2,500 kWh of eligible charging in each subsequent calendar year.
3. YOUR POINTS
Points earned through the Ambassador support program are added to any Points you may earn through other aspects of the Program.
The current rates are:
- Ambassador: 1 Point/kWh of eligible charging generated by their invitees.
- Gold Ambassador: 2 Points/kWh of eligible charging generated by their invitees.
When converted, 100 Points currently equal $1, subject to the Program's terms and conditions.
Rates, eligibility criteria, and terms may change. Always consult the latest version of this Guide and Roulez Électrique's official communications.
4. INVITING A NEW MEMBER
Each Ambassador has a Referral Link that allows a member to be associated with their account.
Depending on the features available to you, this Referral Link may be shared as a web link or through another mechanism recognized by Roulez Électrique.
Before sharing your Referral Link
Take a moment to explain to the person:
- what Club Roulez Électrique is;
- how the Program works in general;
- the role you will play as their Ambassador;
- the main steps required to connect a charging station and begin generating eligible charging sessions.
Avoid presenting Points as a salary, compensation, or guaranteed income.
5. BEFORE REGISTRATION: A FEW USEFUL CHECKS
Before the person registers, check the following with them:
Their charging station. Do they already own a smart charging station? If so, what are its manufacturer and model?
Their installation. Is the charging station already installed and operational?
Their connection. Is it connected to the Internet and, where applicable, to the manufacturer's account?
Their eligibility. Is the charging station on the list of stations currently eligible for the Program?
Their existing account. Does the person already have a Club Roulez Électrique account, or have they already associated their charging station with another Ambassador?
These few questions can often prevent unnecessary steps later.
6. HELPING A MEMBER REGISTER FOR THE PROGRAM
Invite the member to use your Referral Link and, if necessary, assist them while they create their account.
In particular, make sure they enter their email address correctly and complete the steps required by the platform.
Changing Ambassadors before the first charging session
As long as the member has not generated any eligible charging session, they can change Ambassadors themselves using the features provided on the platform.
Once the first eligible charging session is generated, the member becomes your invitee, and the ability to change Ambassadors independently ends.
7. CHOOSING AND PURCHASING A CHARGING STATION
When a member does not yet own a charging station, your role may include helping them choose a model suited to their needs.
You can help them consider, in particular:
- the charging station's compatibility with the Program;
- the vehicle and connector type;
- the desired charging power;
- the available electrical installation;
- the method used to send data to the Program;
- configuration requirements specific to the model.
You are sharing your experience; you are not acting as an electrician, engineer, or professional adviser. For questions within those fields, encourage the member to consult the appropriate professional.
8. HELPING CONNECT THE CHARGING STATION
The procedure varies depending on the manufacturer and the connection method used.
Before starting, make sure the member has access to their own account with the manufacturer and to the devices needed to complete the configuration.
Never ask for the member's password or personal login credentials. They must carry out any operations requiring access to their accounts themselves.
Refer to the following links for the Club's activation procedures:
8.1 Other eligible charging stations
Always consult the up-to-date list and instructions on the platform before beginning configuration.
9. BEFORE FINISHING: MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WORKS
Once the connection is complete, check with the member that:
- [ ] the charging station appears correctly in their account;
- [ ] its connection status is correct;
- [ ] no required steps remain incomplete;
- [ ] a charging session can be carried out normally;
- [ ] the member knows where to check their charging sessions and Points;
- [ ] they know how to contact you if a problem arises.
Whenever possible, encourage the member to complete a first charging session and then verify that it appears correctly on the platform.
10. WHEN A PROBLEM OCCURS
Start with a few simple checks:
- Is the charging station powered on?
- Is it connected to the Internet?
- Does it still appear as connected to the Program?
- Is the manufacturer's account synchronized in the member's Profile?
- Do the most recent charging sessions appear in the app or on the relevant server?
- Could a recent change to the network, password, router, configuration, or app explain the problem?
If you cannot find a solution
Start by consulting the FAQ and available resources:
https://roulezelectrique.club/faq
You can then seek help from another Ambassador if their experience may be useful.
When the issue involves the platform, requires administrative intervention, or is reasonably beyond what an Ambassador can resolve, use the option available in the portal to forward the conversation with your invitee to the Club Roulez Électrique technical support team. A period of 24–48 hours must have elapsed before a message can be forwarded to the team.
Only requests submitted through this method will be handled by the team. No other communication channels will be accepted.
Asking for help is part of an Ambassador's role. The goal is to work together to find a solution, rather than systematically forwarding difficult situations to the Club Roulez Électrique team.
11. SUPPORTING YOUR INVITEES AFTER REGISTRATION
Your role does not automatically end when the charging station is connected or when the first eligible charging session is generated.
The platform provides tools that allow you to communicate with your invitees and respond to their requests.
Messages and support requests
- Check your messages and requests regularly.
- Respond within a reasonable time, taking into account the nature of the request and your availability.
- More than 48 hours must have elapsed before a request can be forwarded to the Club Roulez Électrique team using the option provided in the portal (see Section 10). If a lack of follow-up becomes significant or recurrent, Roulez Électrique may contact you and, where circumstances warrant, reassign the invitee or suspend or revoke your Ambassador status (Policy, Sections 9.4 and 11.2).
The platform allows Roulez Électrique to monitor certain statistics relating to requests and response times, in particular to identify situations requiring follow-up.
When you are away
Use the away-message feature when you expect to be unavailable for a period of time and, whenever possible, indicate your return date.
You can also configure the automated welcome message sent to new members associated with you. These features are already available in the Ambassadors section of the platform.
To configure these messages, open the My Invitations menu and select the My Messages tab. Write your messages in French and English, then click Save. For an absence, enter the start and end dates and write your message. If an invitee writes to you during that period, the automated response is sent no more than once per day, per invitee. Vacation periods are limited to 7 consecutive days and 5 periods per calendar year, with at least 14 days between the end of one period and the start of the next. During your vacation, the time allowed to respond to your invitees is suspended.
12. BECOMING A RECOMMENDED AMBASSADOR
A Recommended Ambassador is a Gold Ambassador whose quality of support has been recognized by Roulez Électrique.
To become a Recommended Ambassador, you must currently:
- hold Gold Ambassador status;
- complete your public profile;
- have received at least five reviews from your invitees;
- maintain an average rating of at least 4 out of 5 stars;
- submit your profile to Roulez Électrique and obtain its approval.
Once approved, your profile may appear in the public directory of Recommended Ambassadors, allowing prospective members to view certain information about you and choose whom they would like to contact for support.
To submit your profile, open the Ambassadors menu and go to My Public Profile. Complete your public listing, confirm that you meet the criteria above, and submit it to Roulez Électrique for approval. Once approved, your profile may be displayed in the Recommended Ambassador directory: https://roulezelectrique.club/ambassadeurs
13. OBTAINING AND USING YOUR PROMOTIONAL CODE
Once you are recognized as a Recommended Ambassador, you can request a promotional code applicable to certain purchases made from Roulez Électrique.
Under the terms currently in effect:
- the member you support receives a 3% discount on the eligible price of the charging station;
- the Recommended Ambassador receives a bonus equal to 5% of the eligible price, credited to their account in Points.
Important rule
You may announce that you have a promotional code and invite interested people to contact you, but you must not publish the code itself.
The code must be provided directly to the person as part of your support.
The code must be used when the order is placed.
It cannot be applied retroactively if the member forgets to use it. You are therefore responsible for informing the person you support before they complete their purchase.
14. COMMUNICATING EFFECTIVELY AS AN AMBASSADOR
When discussing the Club or the Program, use official information and the terminology specified in this Guide.
Preferred terminology
- Points
- Earn Points
- Points per kWh
- Referral Link
- Member before the first eligible charging session
- Invitee after the first eligible charging session
Terminology to avoid
- Cash reward
- Compensation
- Salary
- Guaranteed income
- $/kWh
- any wording suggesting that you are an employee, representative, or expert acting on behalf of Roulez Électrique.
When you are unsure about information, consult the FAQ, this Guide, or official communications before responding.
Social media
You may discuss your experience and the Program and share your Referral Link while complying with the applicable rules.
Disclosure: When promoting the Program or sharing your Referral Link, clearly state that you may earn Points or receive other benefits related to your invitees' participation. This disclosure must be easy to see and understand, and you do not need to specify the Points rate. An acceptable example is: “I may earn Points or receive other benefits if you participate in the Program using my Referral Link.”
Posts and direct messages: Provide accurate and up-to-date information, respect people's choices, and do not exert undue pressure. Do not solicit a member or invitee who is already associated with another Ambassador in an attempt to change that association for your own benefit, unless no eligible charging station has yet been activated or no eligible charging session has been recorded in their account. Do not imply that you speak on behalf of Roulez Électrique.
Club Facebook group: Soliciting new members, including by making Ambassador offers, is prohibited in the Club's Facebook group.
Competitors: Never disparage a competitor, its products, its services, or its carbon credit program. Roulez Électrique has a zero-tolerance policy in this regard.
Brands and logos: Use only the names, brands, logos, and visuals provided to Ambassadors, solely for the purposes of your role, and do not alter them without prior authorization. Stop or modify their use if Roulez Électrique requests it.
Paid advertising and large-scale distribution: Without prior authorization from Roulez Électrique, you may not use your Referral Link in paid advertising outside social media, a promotional campaign, or any other form of large-scale commercial distribution. Requests must be sent to [email protected].
Individual communications and spam: You may communicate directly with someone who expresses interest in the Program and send them your Referral Link. However, respect the wishes of anyone who asks not to receive further communications about the Program, and refrain from repetitive, persistent, or unsolicited communications that could constitute spam or otherwise violate applicable laws.
15. PROTECTING YOUR INVITEES' PERSONAL INFORMATION
Information about your invitees that you can access through your Ambassador status must be used solely for the purpose of supporting them.
Protect its confidentiality and do not disclose it to any third party, except with the express consent of the individual concerned or where required or permitted by law.
Never ask a member or invitee to disclose their passwords or personal login credentials for their Club account, charging station manufacturer's account, or any other service.
16. TRANSFERRING AND REASSIGNING AN INVITEE
After their first eligible charging session, an invitee can no longer change Ambassadors independently.
If you can no longer adequately support an invitee, the platform may allow the invitee to be transferred to another Ambassador, subject to the consent requirements and conditions set out in the Policy.
Roulez Électrique may also exceptionally reassign an invitee in the situations provided for in the Policy.
To request a transfer, write to [email protected], identifying the invitee and the new Ambassador. The transfer requires the agreement of the invitee, the current Ambassador, and the new Ambassador, and takes effect under the terms determined by Roulez Électrique. From that date onward, the invitee's eligible charging sessions may generate Points for the new Ambassador. All Points previously earned in relation to that invitee are also transferred to the new Ambassador.
You may also ask Roulez Électrique to end your association with an invitee without the invitee's consent. The invitee is then automatically transferred to Roulez Électrique, and you lose all Points earned in relation to their charging sessions, including Points earned before the transfer.
